Experience

I have 23 years experience counseling children.

I have worked at Randleman Elementary School for the past 12 years. I am proud to work here. As a counselor, it is my job to help students and families assess and navigate normal developmental issues, changes, or challenges at school and home. I help children problem-solve about things that are interfering with their success. I do this mainly through individual counseling and classroom guidance lessons.

Prior to working at RES, I worked at Randolph County Mental Health for 11 years as a child psychologist. My job was to work with children and their families experiencing problems due to changes in their families or mental health issues. I diagnosed disorders, provided therapy, and conducted psychological testing. I have experience working with children in many different settings, including in-home therapy, group homes, domestic violence shelters, and psychiatric hospitals. I have worked with children with many different types of disorders and disabilities.

Any parent or guardian is welcome to talk with me about your concerns regarding your child's education or behavior. You may call the school at (336)495-1322 or email me at jsamulski@randolph.k12.nc.us.
